Things to see along the way...

Hello travel enthusiasts,

In preparation for our October departure, Marc and I have begun researching things to see along the way.  Our first destination being Alabama, we are looking mostly along the Interstate 81 corridor.  So far, we've come up with the following:

We're certain there are many other wonderful places to visit, but we've yet to continue our research. Clearly, there is no rush to do so, and with gardening season almost upon us, we will most certainly be shelving our research until late summer.

In the meantime, if you know of interesting places to visit between northern New York and Alabama, along the I-81, please share.  We'd love to hear it!

Many years ago, Marc and I were in Brussels for a very short time between flights.  Though it was a brief visit, it was nonetheless truly pleasant. It horrifies us to think what these kind, peace-loving people are going through now.  We wish to extend our condolences to the families of those who were killed and injured in the Brussels terrorist attacks. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Yes, it's been a long three years since I've written.  If you were following this blog until a couple years ago, you'll know that Marc and I took a three-year break from traveling.  We purchased a house three years ago and opted to stick around to do much-needed renovations.  Of course, it's hard to blog on a travel blog when you're not traveling, right?

Fast-forward three years and we are more than ready to hit the road.  Of course, it's now March, so

Canada, Here We Come!

Believe it or not, it is that time again...!  Our six months in the south have come to an end and we are heading home to Ottawa.

We enjoyed our time in the Florida Panhandle, but found it a wee bit colder than we hoped it would be.  The weather was also unpredictable, with several tornado and severe storm warnings.  We could definitely have done without that particular excitement.

The highlight of the winter was, by far, a visit by our daughter, her fiance Noka, and our two grandbabies, Aidan and Cerys.  We will cherish the memories forever.

This being a KOA park, there are all sorts of things for children to do.  Marc took Aidan to the mini-golf, played a round, then we all joined them and headed to the playground.  Got some good pictures and had lots of laughs.  Tomorrow, should the weather permit, we are planning to hit the beach, then the heated pool for a swim.
