Bayou Country General Store

While staying at the Fontainebleau State Park, we decided to drive the half hour to Sliddell to visit the Bayou Country General Store.  What a cool place!  They sell anything and everything related
to the bayou lifestyle.  We bought alligator jerky, both cajun- and BBQ-flavoured.  Of course, I just had to have one of their locally-crafted roux paddles.

A few other things such as Mardi Gras dip seasoning mix, a taste of their famous pralines, a little something for our grandaughter and our purchases were complete.  We stayed for lunch and enjoyed a pannini-pressed po-boy sandwich, then headed home.  This place is located just off the I-10, at exit 261.  Definitely worth the stop!
