Never-ending Mardi Gras!

The drive from Robertsdale, Alabama to Mandeville, Louisiana this past Tuesday was a pleasant three hours.  The day was cloudy, but the rain held off.  Upon reaching Bayou Lacombe (2 miles from Fontainebleau State Park), we hit a virtual wall of vehicles and
were forced to come to a stop.  There were cars parked everywhere, including in the middle of the street.  We soon realized the cause of this chaos was a Mardi Gras parade about one block ahead.

We left the RV where it was and walked over to join the townsfolk.  Luckily, the delay was fairly brief as we had obviously caught the tail end of the parade, and so made our way back to the RV.  The traffic moved very slowly, so slowly in fact that parade-goers were able to converse with us as we drove.  Naturally, a few people along the way noticed our licence plate and, knowing we are new to this Mardi Gras parade stuff, began to give us -- you guessed it! -- beads!  By the time we had reached the edge of town, we had accummulated (another) 65 strings of beads.  Hey, what can we say, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
