surrounding a town square. The square is used by local farmers and artisans to peddle their wares twice weekly; the buildings are open seven days a week, also occupied by artisans.
We enjoyed lunch at a quaint little eatery called Café Mesilla, owned by a Canadian (from Gatineau, Quebec) who relocated here one year ago. It was nice chatting with a fellow Canadian, and she enjoyed practising her French with us.
Our favourite store by far was Solamente. It was colourful and offered a wonderful assortment of salsas and handmade southwest crafts. The rooster in this photo was fabricated out of dried peppers.
So if you find yourself anywhere near Las Cruces, New Mexico, do take the time to visit the Old Mesilla Village. It is well worth it.
Wow, finally pictures, luv it
