Yes, We're Still Here...!

For our friends and family who wonder why we are neglecting Juanita's Journey this season, we would like to explain why that is.  When researching RV parks this past summer, we chose to stay in the Florida panhandle
because of its proximity to the Gulf of Mexico and its warm days and cool nights.

The park we are staying at, the Milton KOA RV Park, is just a short drive from the seashore, but once we got settled in, we realized the town of Milton is just far enough away to be inconvenient whenever we get the urge to walk the beach.

So we took some time last week to visit a brand spanking new park which just opened up in Navarre and which is located right on the beach.  The park is called the Santa Rosa Sound RV Park and, although a small park, it is quite lovely and is right in the middle of the action.

Because we paid for three months ahead here in Milton, we will stay until January 22 and will then pack up our things and move to Navarre, minutes from both Pensacola and Fort Walton/Destin, Florida, larger cities that offer a million things to do and see.

Just to clarify, there is nothing wrong with the town of Milton.  It is a lovely town approximately the size of Arnprior (our former hometown prior to going full-time).  There is great shopping and a few choice restaurants, but for snowbird "tourists," it is a wee bit lacking in the things-to-see department.

As to the park where we are currently residing, we will miss their huge, heated pool.  The park in Navarre has a beautiful pool, though not heated.  I doubt it will get much use from now until February.

So we ask those of you who check in to our blog either regularly or occasionally to not give up on us!  We do plan to write more often as soon as we can get our tourist legs on once more!
