First things first...
For those of you who are new to this blog, you are most likely wondering: Who the heck is Juanita? Well, a couple years ago, Marc and I visited Puerto Vallarta and, upon our arrival, headed straight to the beach for a look around. This is where we met Juanita, a sweet-as-pie Mexican beach vendor who was determined to sell us some jewellery. Although the sales pitch was not new to us (this was not our first visit to Mexico), Juanita somehow won our hearts. We were heading off to dinner, and in no mood to shop, so we promised to get back to her the next day. When she realized she would not make a sale that day, she made sure we knew her name: Juanita.
And so when we purchased our 5th wheel - our new home on wheels - we spent some time debating what to name it. In the end, we settled on Juanita!
We are: Marc and Lise Guilbault
Our family: Nathalie (daughter)
Aidan (granddaughter)
Cerys (granddaughter)
We are Canadian citizens and have lived in or around Ottawa, Ontario all our lives.
Apart from having enjoyed a fulfilling career in IT, Marc is also an excellent carpenter and all-around Jack of all trades (electrical, plumbing, mechanical...). In her past life, Lise worked as an administrative assistant and was an avid gardener, dabbled in water painting, sewing and gourmet cuisine.
We love to travel and have lived in Africa, have visited Switzerland, Mexico, Costa Rica, The Bahamas... and spent countless summer vacations camping. In planning for our retirement, we sold our home in White Lake, Ontario and purchased a Keystone Everest Fifth Wheel.
Our dream retirement? To hit the road and never look back!
