Let's hit the road!

As many of you can attest, we have been planning our retirement for a very long time.  If I were to venture a guess, I'd have to say at least 5 years.  So heading out at this point is simply icing on the cake!

Now, we must confess...
We are obsessive listmakers.  We will admit to making lists for everything from grocery shopping to pet supplies, to things to do before leaving, things to do on the road and things to do once we get there.  Any chance we'll forget something?  Of course there is!  (But that will most certainly be Marc's fault!)  Joking aside, we've had our mechanic check the truck (including the air conditioning), the vet has given Peanut (our dog) a clean bill of health, any dental work needed has been dealt with, the RV tires are properly inflated, our WiFi is hooked up and ready to go and spare truck and RV parts have been bought.  Yes, we have our passports, proofs of ownership and insurance, Rx information and any other important stuff that may or may not get us across the border.

For those of you wishing to track our progress, we are posting our itinerary*:

October 20 to 23 - Laurel, Maryland
October 23 to 25 - on the road, Maryland to Florida
October 25 to January 8 - Winter Haven, Florida
January 8 to March 8 - Robertsdale, Alabama
March 8 to March 12 - Mandeville, Louisiana (near New Orleans)
March 12 to April 12 - Eunice, Louisiana

* Due to security concerns at U.S.-Mexico border crossings, we have opted to remain State-side this year.  Next year, we plan to hit Mexico come what may!
