Bok Tower Gardens

We have just returned from spending three hours at the lovely 250-acre (1 square kilometer) Bok Tower Gardens sanctuary located just a few short miles from where we are staying.  The amazing gardens were
created by Edward W. Bok, their purpose being to frame a 205-foot high carillon tower built of pink and grey Georgia marble .  The work was started in 1927 and completed in 1929.  Every half hour, the carillon bells play enchanting tunes such as "How Great Thou Art," "America The Beautiful" and "Go 'Way From My Window."

  1. Gorgeous garden! And it looks like you had wonderful weather that day too, :) Our gardens are looking a little brown these days, soon to be covered in white. ;) cheers, from Nancy
