There was no ecstasy to be found today in the Guilbault RV! Campground Management found a better spot for us, one which offered 50-amp service, as had been promised when we originally reserved a few months back. Since the new site was located just across the road from where we were,
Marc tied Peanut to a tree on the site just next to the one we were going to be occupying. The entire time we were hooking up, moving and then unhooking the RV, Peanut complained, his whining slowly increasing in intensity and volume. Once we were set up on the new site, I went inside to turn on the air conditioning and Marc picked him up to carry him inside (he still can't climb the steps by himself). As he picked him up, Marc was stung by a really nasty sticker and soon realized Peanut was covered in them. Poor Sir Nut had some between his toes, under his tummy, in his ears and in his tail. These stickers are so bad that just trying to remove one makes your fingers bleed.
For the next hour, we fought with poor Peanut, who was clearly in pain and trying constantly to bite us. When even his muzzle couldn't contain him, we resorted to wrapping him tightly in a large towel (practically smothering him), pulling one paw out at a time to cut out the stickers (pulling them out was out of the question). Once we were done removing these nasties from Peanut's coat, we had to sit with a magnifying glass and tweezers to remove each other's stickers. As you can imagine, Peanut got a guilt-treat after his ordeal!
What kind of camp site is that, if you cant even be bare feet outside, I think they should do better maintenance on there lots

Ouch ouch ouch! Oh your poor little Peanut! I had to look up stickers - and they are nasty looking things. I wish Peanut a swift recovery! That campsite should clean up their sites better. Nancy
ReplyDeleteForget the dog treats, you should have given him a bowl of whiskey! Now you're talking.
