Suffering in Paradise!

Let me start at the beginning...  When we first arrived in Milton, our truck's warning system informed us that we had water in our fuel.  Lovely!  We stalled having it looked at for
two reasons:  1)  The truck was due for an oil change in November, and  2)  We were told by several people that this problem often clears itself up in time.

We waited well over a week and still the problem persisted.  So off we went to the nearest Ford Dealership to have the oil changed, as well as all filters replaced.  Coincidentally, Hobby Lobby, my favourite store, is located a short 3 miles from World Ford in Pensacola, so Marc dropped me off then headed to Ford.

Thinking I had at least an hour to shop, I took my time, looking at fabric and patterns.  P.S.:  All McCall patterns are on for .99 cents this week!  Of course, I chose two, then headed to my other favourite spots in the store, scrapbooking and how-to books.  By the time I had seen all I wanted to see, two hours had passed.  So I walked around...and I walked around...(you get the picture, right?!). Three and a half hours had gone by when I finally spotted Marc, waving at me from the front of the store.

Yes, folks, it took that particular Ford Service place 3.5 hours to do an oil change.  Marc had to remind the Service Advisor three times that he was still waiting.  It took him showing his upset (which for Marc couldn't have been too scary!) before they took him seriously and got the thing done.

It was 4:00 p.m. by the time we got out of Hobby Lobby and neither one of us had had a bite to eat since 9:00 that morning, so we grabbed a quick bite at Wendy's, then headed back to Milton.  As soon as we got home, I wrote an e-mail to Ford  stating how disappointed we were in their service.  Not only were they slow, but whoever did the job had smeared some type of goo all around the filter area. Very shoddy work indeed.

Today, the Service Manager called to apologize and to ask us to return, at our convenience, so that they can clean up the mess underneath the truck, and ensure there are no leaks.  So in fairness to Ford Service, they are at least attempting to rectify the problem.

Now, just in case you are wondering, no, I will not wait for Marc at Hobby Lobby!  I will sit with him at Ford, and we will suffer together!

  1. Hey bud Marc when I had my diesel truck i had to use conditioner at every fill up and you will never have that problem again. What happens is because only a centain amount of fuel is burned the rest is returned to the tank and the fuel returning is hot, that's what crates water in some vehicles, conditioner takes care of that
