of our journey was the 110-mile drive from Key Largo (the first key) to Key West (the last key). The speed limit alternates between 35 mph and 55 mph, on a two-lane road. Believe me, when you are pulling a 38-foot beast, driving the Keys can be a bit much at times.
Our RV site at Boyd's Campground is lovely, if a bit unusual. When we booked, we were told we would be waterfront, but there's waterfront and there's waterfront! Any closer to the water and we would be wet! We are so close to the ocean, we literally cannot go around the RV by the back! Marc wanted to wash the living room window so that I would take a picture of the view, and as you can see in this picture, he had to hang from our ladder to do it!
Last night, we met our friends, Mike and Shirley, for dinner in Marathon, an island 53 miles to the east of Key West. They are just coming to the end of a one-month stay in the Keys, and we were fortunate enough to spend a bit of time with them before they leave for Maryland tomorrow morning.
On their recommendation, we had dinner at Sunset Grille and Raw Bar, a real lively (and windy!) waterfront seafood restaurant. The food was scrumptious. We enjoyed amazing seafood from calamari, to lobster and snow crab legs. If you are ever in the vicinity, we definitely suggest you give this place a try!
Glad to hear you are enjoying yourself, continue life is too short
